The Pop Icon Opens Up About Her Engagement & What Comes Next
Taylor Swift Reveals Engagement Story on The Graham Norton Show
Taylor Swift has finally shared details about her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce, and fans are swooning over how it all unfolded.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show alongside Cillian Murphy, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Domhnall Gleeson, the pop megastar flashed her sparkling engagement ring while recalling the unexpected proposal.
“He really crushed it in surprising me,” Taylor said. “While we were talking on his podcast, he had a complete garden built out the back of his house to propose in. He went all out — 10 out of 10.”
The Proposal Was a Total Surprise
The garden-themed proposal was peak Travis Kelce — grand, heartfelt, and completely under wraps. Taylor admitted she didn’t see it coming, which made the moment even more meaningful.
Notably, the proposal happened on the same day Taylor dropped her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on October 3, 2025 — making it a double celebration she’ll never forget.
“Wedding Comes After Album” — Taylor on What’s Next
Despite the engagement buzz, Taylor isn’t jumping straight into wedding planning just yet.
“I want to do the album stuff first, and the wedding is what happens after in terms of planning. I think it will be fun to plan,” she shared on the show.
Currently, her focus is entirely on promoting her latest musical project.
Taylor & Travis: From SNL to “I Do”
The couple’s romance first made headlines in October 2023, when they were spotted holding hands at a Saturday Night Live after-party. Since then, their love story has unfolded publicly, with fans dubbing them the perfect “pop star x athlete” pairing.
In August 2025, Travis and Taylor confirmed their engagement with dreamy Instagram photos and a cheeky caption:
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
