GreyLabs CEO Aman Goel Pays ₹1 Lakh a Month to Educated Home Manager to Run His Home

IIT alumnus says the arrangement “saves us from a lot of headache and time” as he juggles work and family

Aman Goel, CEO of GreyLabs AI and an alumnus of IIT Bombay, is drawing attention after disclosing that he pays his full-time home manager a salary of ₹1 lakh per month.

In a post on X, Goel explained that his home manager handles everything — from groceries and laundry to repairs, wardrobe management and food planning.

“We pay them ₹1 lakh a month … saving us from lots of headaches and time,” Goel said, adding that the person is “educated” and previously worked as an operations head at a hotel chain.

Why He Did It

Goel and his wife, Harshita Srivastava (IIT Kanpur alumna), both run GreyLabs and live with Goel’s parents, who are senior citizens.

He said their busy work lives made managing household tasks — cooking, maintenance, cleaning — very difficult. Hiring a home manager let them delegate these chores effectively.

Reaction & Debate

The decision has sparked mixed reactions on social media:

  • Some users called it a wise time-management move.
  • Others criticized it, saying he was “burning money.”
  • Goel clarified that the salary is paid from his personal funds, not company money.

He said managing a household well is a “task,” and this model gives him peace of mind and efficiency.

Bigger Picture

  • GreyLabs AI is a rapidly growing startup; it recently raised ₹85 crore in Series A funding to scale its voice-AI platform.
  • Goel’s decision reflects a broader trend among busy professionals who are outsourcing domestic management to free up time for work and personal life.
