BMW’s latest electric iX3 debuts at the Munich Motor Show with a redesigned logo featuring sleek chrome reduction and a minimalist new look, signaling a fresh brand identity.
BMW quietly introduced a refreshed version of its iconic logo on the iX3 showcased at the Munich Motor Show, almost slipping past the eyes of many enthusiasts. The new electric iX3 marks not only a step forward in BMW’s electric vehicle lineup but also introduces the brand’s latest “Neue Klasse” design language — including a subtly updated badge.
At first glance, the new logo seems identical to the classic roundel with blue and white quarters set against a black background encircled by chrome. However, a closer look reveals that BMW has pared back the chrome detailing for a more modern aesthetic. The inner chrome ring that traditionally separated the blue and white segments from the black outer ring has been removed. Additionally, the horizontal and vertical chrome bars that once divided the blue and white quadrants are now gone, replaced by a sleeker, smoked chrome finish.
Unlike other electric BMW models like the iX1 that feature a blue outer rim, the iX3 sports a simplified black rim. The letters spelling “BMW” have also been slimmed down, and the black area surrounding the letters now carries a satin or matte finish rather than a glossy one.
According to a report from Carscoops, BMW confirmed that this new logo will debut on the iX3 and will gradually appear on refreshed and upcoming models. A company spokesperson stated, “The badge will debut on the iX3 and will gradually roll out to new or refreshed vehicles as they are introduced.”
This subtle rebranding effort reflects BMW’s commitment to evolving its identity alongside its shift towards electric mobility and modern design.
