Trump canceled election night party plans, reports say
There are plans to have Trump’s election night party at the White House, if he is re-elected as President.
President Donald Trump has canceled plans to host an election night party event at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC, a person familiar with the plans told The New York Times .
That source told the Times that Trump will likely remain in the White House on November 3.
The president’s son, Eric Trump , in an interview on Fox News Friday morning, said the party could change venues.
“We are thinking of moving him, in fact, to the White House. We are looking at that right now. It’s going to be a great night, ” said Eric Trump .
The Trump campaign sent fundraising emails to donors last weekend, announcing a giveaway that would give a winner, along with a guest, the chance to fly to the nation’s capital, where they would stay for free. and they would attend the November 3 party at Trump International, as very important guests of the re-elected president.
“November 3 will go down in history as the night we won FOUR MORE YEARS,” the email read. “It will be absolutely EPIC, and the only thing that could make it better is having YOU there.”
At a press conference Monday, Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser said she was unaware of the GOP preparations at Trump International, which the Washingtonian reported is already covered for election night.
The capital’s coronavirus regulations currently restrict events to a maximum capacity of 50 people, including all attendees and staff.
