‘This is news to a lot of people!’ Mindy Kaling reveals she gave birth to a boy last month
If you didn’t see this coming, you’re not alone. Mindy Kaling revealed that she welcomed a baby boy last month, her second child.
“The Mindy Project” actress, 41, dropped the surprise birth news during her appearance on Thursday’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
“I’m telling it for the first time now, it feels so strange. But I gave birth to a baby boy on Sept. 3,” Kaling told the late-night host.
“No one even knew you were pregnant!” Colbert responded.
“I know! I know! This is news to a lot of people,” Kaling replied with a laugh. “It’s true.”
Kaling did not give more details, and seemed surprised by Colbert’s question over the child’s name. “Yes, yes. He has a name. His name is Spencer,” she said.
When Kaling gave birth to daughter Katherine in 2017, it was a surprise to fans. She has chosen not to reveal the father’s identity, explaining to The New York Times in 2018: “My feeling is that until I speak to my daughter about that, I’m not going to talk to anyone else about it.”
