Through a collective buying initiative, JITO members secured significant savings on high-end vehicles from top global brands.
In a remarkable display of collective buying power, members of the Jain community have acquired 186 luxury cars, including models from BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz, at a substantial discount. This initiative was facilitated by the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), which boasts a membership of 65,000 individuals across India.
The vehicles, priced between ₹60 lakh and ₹1.3 crore each, were delivered to buyers across the country between January and June 2025. Through this collective effort, the community secured a total discount of ₹21 crore. JITO acted solely as a facilitator and did not profit from the deal.
Community Buying Power
The majority of the buyers hailed from Gujarat, where the enthusiasm for luxury vehicles is notably strong. The idea of pooling demand to negotiate better rates was initially suggested by a few JITO members and quickly gained traction. Nitin Jain, who led the initiative, emphasized that collective buying allowed them to negotiate directly with luxury car brands, resulting in significant discounts and savings on marketing costs for the manufacturers.
Expanding Collective Buying
Encouraged by the success of this initiative, JITO is exploring the possibility of extending such group purchasing models to other sectors, including electronics, jewelry, and pharmaceuticals. The organization aims to empower its members by leveraging collective bargaining to secure better deals across various product categories.
Final Take
This collective buying initiative not only highlights the Jain community’s formidable purchasing power but also sets a precedent for community-driven purchasing strategies. By pooling resources and negotiating as a group, JITO members have demonstrated how collective action can lead to significant savings and benefits for all involved.
