In a chilling discovery at Bilaspur’s Atal Awas Colony, police find husband hanging, wife dead on bed — lipstick notes pointing to infidelity and despair.
Tragedy struck Atal Awas Colony in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh when a couple — 30-year-old Shivani Tambe (alias Neha) and her husband Raj Tambe — were found dead inside their home on Monday. Authorities suspect a grisly murder-suicide after disturbing evidence surfaced.
When the door was finally opened by family members, Shivani was discovered lying dead on the bed, while Raj was found hanging from a ceiling fan. The scene left neighbours and police stunned.
What added horror was the presence of several messages written in lipstick on the walls of their home. Some of the messages named a man — Rajesh Vishwas — accusing him of destroying the couple’s marriage. One desperate line read: “We are dying because of Rajesh Vishwas.” Another note addressed their children: “Children, I love you.”
According to neighbours, Shivani and Raj had been living together for nearly a decade after a love marriage. They worked as cleaners in a private company and had three young children. Recently, their home had witnessed frequent arguments — reportedly triggered by Raj’s suspicion of frequent phone calls made by his wife.
On November 24, when neither stepped out and they failed to respond even by afternoon, Shivani’s mother grew anxious and forced the door open. What she saw haunts the colony till now.
Preliminary forensic examination reportedly found scratch marks on Shivani’s neck — hinting she may have been strangled before Raj took his own life. A suicide note recovered from the scene echoed the same accusations scrawled on the walls, reinforcing the suspicion of murder-suicide.
Local police have registered a case, and all angles — homicide, suicide, or forced death — are being investigated. Authorities said the forensic report will be decisive in determining the true sequence of events inside the Tambe household.
The chilling case has sent shockwaves through Bilaspur’s Atal Awas Colony. Residents, still reeling from the shock, say they never imagined such horror in their neighbourhood.
