Amity University Unveils World’s First School of AI to Bridge India’s Massive Skill Gap

New AI school launches with 11 certificate programmes aimed at non-technical professionals, addressing India’s low AI-training penetration and preparing the workforce for future jobs.

Amity University has unveiled what it calls the world’s first School of AI, a bold initiative designed to make artificial intelligence education more accessible — especially for non-technical professionals.

Why It Matters

According to the latest India Skills Report 2026, while India’s employability rate stands at 56.35%, only about 20% of young people have undertaken any AI-related training. Amity’s School of AI aims to fill this gap by targeting the untapped potential of domain professionals — from HR and education to healthcare and finance.

What the School of AI Offers

  • 11 short certificate programmes combining self-paced modules with live interactive sessions every fortnight.
  • These programmes are tailored for non-technical learners — meaning no prior coding knowledge required.
  • Courses focus heavily on real-world applications of AI, helping professionals integrate AI into their current job roles.

Visionary Leadership

Ajit Chauhan, Chairman of Amity University Online, emphasised that AI isn’t just about automation anymore. Instead, he described their vision as “humanising AI education” — making it a natural extension of how people work, think, and solve problems. He added that their goal is to make every learner fluent in the language of AI, but in a way that’s human, not strictly “machine-centric.”

Impact Across Industries

By democratizing AI training, Amity’s School of AI hopes to:

  • Boost productivity and creativity in sectors like BFSI, education, HR, and healthcare
  • Help professionals stay future-ready as AI becomes more central in their workspaces
  • Empower non-engineers to meaningfully use AI to drive innovation, rather than remain on the sidelines of the AI revolution
